Sheila I. Brown

Sheila is a Registered Social Worker whose counselling and mediation practice specializes in assisting families to transition through the separation/divorce process in as positive a way as possible. In addition to assisting parents in developing parenting plans, Sheila works in collaborative practice as a Neutral Facilitator, Coach and Child Specialist. Sheila is a Registered Social Worker and Accredited Mediator with over 25 years of experience. Sheila’s practice specializes in assisting families through the separation/divorce process in as positive a way as possible. Sheila works in collaborative practice as a Neutral Facilitator, Coach, and Child Specialist. Sheila has been a leader in the Toronto area in the development of interdisciplinary team practice and has provided training and consultation to collaborative professionals who wish to enhance their skills using a team approach. Sheila has supervised and trained mediators within a court related context and was previously an instructor for the Mediating Custody and Access Disputes course at McMaster university. As a former manager of counselling and mediation programs in children’s mental health centres, Sheila has mentored and supervised the clinical work of numerous mental health professionals. Sheila is a member of the Board of Directors for the Ontario Collaborative Law Federation and past Director of Collaborative Practice Toronto.
