Paula Hopkins
I concentrate my law practice in family law using collaborative law to resolve my client’s conflicts whenever possible. I have authored model statutes and publications on elder law and disability topics and have lectured for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the National Business Institute on topics related to family law including alternate dispute resolution and the equitable distribution of retirement benefits. As a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, I have served as an elected member of the Judiciary Committee, as a member of the Family Law Section Council and as Chair of the Sole and Small Firm Section. I am currently serving as an appointed member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association House of Delegates for Zone 12. After receiving training in collaborative law in 2005, I became a founding member and first president of the Collaborative Law Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania (CLASP). I meet the standards for a collaborative professional set by the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP) and have participated in more than 100 hours of training in collaborative law and mediation. I am a Patron of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation and a mentor in the Be A Sixth Grade Mentor program sponsored by the United Way and the Pittsburgh Public Schools. I am a graduate of The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law, and received my J.D. in 1978.
