Kate Scharff
Kate Scharff, MSW is a psychotherapist, mediator and collaborative practioner with over 20 years of clinical experience. Licensed in Maryland and DC, Ms. Scharff is the Founder and Director of the Center for Relationships in Transition in Bethesda, Maryland, which provides psychotherapy and specialized services for families going through separation and divorce. She is also the Director of the Metro Washington Center of the International Psychotherapy Institute, and has written and presented widely on the topics of psychotherapy, divorce, high conflict divorce, and Collaborative Practice. Ms. Scharff is a founding member and on the board of of the DC Academy of Collaborative Professionals. She is also a member of the Metro DC Mental Health Collaborative Professionals Group, and The Maryland Collaborative Practice Council. Ms. Scharff has completed over 40 Collaborative Cases as Child Specilist or Collaborative Coach, and is on the faculty of the Collaborative Practice Training Institute.

I am a trainer with the Collaborative Practice Training Insitute, a faculty based in Maryland, Virginia, and DC, offering all forms of collaborative training and specialty training for each of the main collaborative professions. We offer two-day basic Collaborative Trainings, three day Multi-Disciplinary Trainings focused on working as a Team, and we are developing intermediate and advanced workshops on specific topic areas such as The Role of The Collaborative Coach and Child Specialist; Developing a Deep and Durable Parenting Plan; and Working with High Conflict Clients. In addition, we are working on an intermediate level training on Civil Collaborative case work.
