Suzanne L. Brunsting
I am an experience family law attorney and trained mediator who has limited her practice to Collaborative Law since 2003. Having turned an exceptional litigation practice into a dedicated collaborative practice, I am in a unique position to help others identify their goals and achieve them. With more than 400 collaborative cases completed since 2001 and more than 60 trainings conducted, I am committed to sharing my knowledge and experience as a trainer with other professionals while, at the same time, learning from them.
As an enthusiastic founder and former President of the Collaborative Law Association of the Rochester Area, Inc., I offer my assistance to collaborative groups just starting to organize and to more established groups wishing to increase their members' competence and confidence as collaborative practitioners.

| Training Offered |
I offer Advanced one and two day learning opportunites, Intermediate one and two day trainings and a two day Introductory Training, working closely with other trainers to address the specific needs of the community.
Not adhering to any one model of practice or training, I embrace the concept of encouraging professionals to work in concert to help families in crisis learn to resolve conflicts respectfully.

| Training Conducted |
Two Day Introductory Collaborative Training (primarily lawyer-focused). This introductory intensive training is intended to help court-based lawyers understand the basic and profound shift in thinking, focus and intention needed to represent clients in the collaborative process. We include lecture, discussion, demonstration and role-play. This is usually attended primarily by lawyers who have had no previous collaborative training. Other professionals (mental health, mediation-conflict resolution, financial) are encouraged to attend. The professionals, working and learning together are forming the basis for collaborative practice groups in the communities where I have trained. One and Two Day Advanced Collaborative Trainings are prepared for collaborative professionals who have attended a basic training and have had some experience working in this process. They recognize the need for ongoing learning opportunities and are eager to increase their competence and confidence as collaborative practitioners.
