I spent many years practicing the traditional family litigation model. I took a long break from law to raise kids and came back to discover this new way to resolve family disputes. Collaborative practice gives me the opportunity to work with a group to help couples and families find the best solutions to their issues without lawyers having to threaten each other with a fight at the courthouse. That threat and the ensuing fight will cost a lot of money and the emotional damage may last a lifetime. There is a better way for many and that is the collaborative process.
