As a marriage and family therapist for more than 39 years, I have seen the destruction that can occur to a family when a couple needs to end their marriage. Ending the marriage, though, does not end their role as loving co-parents. Divorce, then, needs to consider life after the divorce papers -- life for the children who deserve two loving parents to take care of them. Collaborative divorce offers the opportunity for parents to remain loving and nurturing to their children, even after they stop loving each other.
