| Blair’s uses his training and experience in financial planning for separation and divorce to assist legal counsel in achieving satisfactory long- term financial settlements. He plays a supporting role in family law financial matters, offering objective advice related to determination of income, assisting with cash flow budgeting and calculating the effect of income taxes on various support payment scenarios. He has assisted with mediation and collaborative family law negotiations as well as participated in court trials as an expert witness. His experience includes assistance to the P.E.I. Dept. of Justice & Public Safety with implementation of the Child Support Guidelines in 1997, and participation on the Advisory Committee on Child Support to the federal Deputy Minister of Justice. He provides continuing advice to the judiciary, court personnel and lawyers on determination of income, as well as advice on tax consequences and financial issues regarding child and spousal support matters. He has presented various seminars and workshops to the public, government and legal organizations on the Child Support Guidelines in all four Atlantic Provinces and has authored of a number of related articles. |
