| I am a trained mediator and collaborative law practitioner, with twenty-five years of experience as an estate planning lawyer at Lourie & Cutler in Boston. My expertise in tax and trust law can be of great value in collaborative matters, for example in divorce cases where the parties had previously created irrevocable trusts which need to be unwound, where during the marriage the parties relied on income from a trust of which only one of the parties is a beneficiary, or where trusts need to be created in connection with the divorce to provide for education or support of children. I participate in collaborative law matters in two capacities. In some cases, I am retained to advise one of the parties about trust or tax matters. In other cases, I am retained by both parties as a collaborative neutral to craft a solution to a trust or tax problem. My law practice experience is also helpful in mediating disputes involving estates, trusts and closely held businesses. |
