    Lori D. Becker, J.D., M.B.A., is an attorney, mediator, problem solver, and peace-maker who is dedicated to helping families going through divorce build a stable future for themselves and their children. Her work in the Collaborative Divorce Process enables couples to resolve their disputes with dignity through effective communication, cooperative negotiation, and creative problem solving, allowing them to tailor settlements to their family’s specific needs and focus on their future.

    Ms. Becker’s dedication to educating the public, spreading awareness about appropriate dispute resolution, and aiding paradigm shift in the legal community has been recognized in various publications and through numerous awards, including The Macomb Daily, The Detroit News, Motion Magazine, and Michigan Lawyers Weekly.

    Ms. Becker currently serves as the President of the Collaborative Practice Institute of Michigan Board of Directors. She is on the Board of Directors for the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and chairs both the Public Education Advisory Panel and Uniform Collaborative Law Act Committee for the IACP. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Collaborative Professionals of Southeast Michigan and the Women Lawyer’s Association of Michigan Foundation, and as a committee member of the Family Law Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

    I was honored to be the first professional from Michigan elected to the Board of Directors for the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. I am also incoming President of the Collaborative Practice Institute of Michigan Board of Directors, and serve on the Board of Directors for both the Collaborative Professionals of Southeast Michigan and the Women Lawyer’s Associate of Michigan Foundation. My goal is to help couples resolve their disputes tactfully and respectfully through effective communication, cooperative negotiation, and creative problem solving.
