| General Comments |
| I believe that most people, given the opportunity for thoughtful contemplation, would agree that their relationships with the other people who inhabit their lives are among their most valuable possessions. Virtually all of these valued relationships are damaged by the break up of a marriage, but most survive, and can be preserved and healed, given careful thought and attention. Should we not then, as lawyers, provide our clients with a safe environment in which to 'take inventory' of what is truly important to them, strive to make sure that they have the information they need to make informed decisions, help assemble the team of professionals most appropriate to their needs, and then provide zealous and creative representation and counsel to pursue the goals their value systems dictate? Collaborative Law Practice provides the opportunity to create that environment. I have great faith in the ability of people, given that safe environment, to make the right choices for themselves and those they they love. |
