Dr. Shel J Miller, PhD
(Psychologist/Mental Health Professional)
|
I coach couples/individual via multi-theoretical, humanistic approaches; Mind/body, behavior therapy, psycho-dynamic, child/adult development, gestalt, family systems, including creative audio/videotaping. I facilitate development of positive perspective through humor. I work briefly, intermittently or long-term, including executive coaching. My Strength: experience with all ages and types. I believe in building upon the STRONG in you and your family rather than what's WRONG. My style is informal. I coach. I facilitate successful working relationships at work or at home. I create self-awareness now along with an increased understanding of the roots of unfinished business , or ghosts from the past. I restore your own path to self-discovery and development. So although my style is to stay out of your way and patiently provide non-judgmental emotional support, I also actively suggest efficient strategies and tools for habit change and success with whatever transition you face. I am easy to talk to, responsible, ethical, happily married and a proud parent. I listen without judgment and quickly get you back on track with new habits in your repetoir. Rather than keep you in a coaching or therapeutic relationship forever, I help you succeed and fire me as quickly as possible.

| General Comments |
Since 1982, I have had a reputation for creatively using video technology, including a special effects generator, to coach clients re: their presentation of self, past and present, via closed circuit TV. With such audio visual aids, he has achieved accelerated and lasting results for many leaders and family members. Shel has given numerous workshops on family systems, brief cost-effective consultation and entrepreneurial empowerment. He has increased staff satisfaction in for profit enterprises as well as for Day Care Directors and Brookline School Special Education Personnel.
These activities make the addition of Collaborative Practice and training a natural trajectory in both family and civil cases.
My services include training teams to work in the Collaborative Law process and coaching divorcing executives on all the issues involved in divorce. I build successful working relationships among partners at work or at home and helps his clients with life strategies to integrate work and family life. I am on the Consulting Staff of Tufts-New England Medical Center's Comprehensive Family Evaluation Center and provide Parent Coordination Services to Post-Divorce families. As the first Psychological Event Planner I am developing a niche practice working to reduce angst in families planning milestone events/reunions. |
