| Description: | About the Program:
This Two-Day Intensive Training for both novice and experienced collaborative practitioners, includes a complete introduction to Collaborative Family Law theory, practice, and skills development as well as ethics and practice development considerations.
For attorneys, this program may provide 14 hours of New York Continuing Legal Education credit – 11.5 hours Skills and 1.5 hour Ethics and Professionalism (application pending).
The two day program will also provide an overview of a multidisciplinary collaborative team practice and relationship building for lawyers, mental health professionals, mediators and financial specialists.

| Presenters: | Daniel G. Cantone, Esq. is a Collaborative Family Law Attorney, divorce mediator and Adjunct Professor of Family Law at Syracuse University, the Syracuse University College of Law and SUNY Oswego. Having litigated domestic relations cases since 1982, Dan began to commit his efforts with clients solely to Collaborative practice in 2004. He is a popular national and regional presenter in the areas of Collaborative Practice, New York divorce law and paralegal education.
Karen Schwartz is a licensed mental health counselor, certified alcohol and substance abuse counselor, national board certified clinical hypnotherapist, certified master neurolinguistic programmer, and a collaborative law facilitator for the CNY Collaborative Family Law Professionals, Inc. She is a frequent presenter of education workshops for divorcing parents and has over 25 years experience in both private and public sector mental health and dependency counseling. Karen's history also includes service as a divorce mediator in Wisconsin.
Donna M. Maier, CDFA, AVA is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, working with individuals who are faced with the issues of divided marital assets due to divorce. Donna has been involved in more than 300 collaborative cases. A commercial banker for more than 20 years, her credentials include an MBA in both Finance and Marketing from the University of Rochester’s Simon School. She has recently received her designation as an Accredited Valuation Analyst from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts to conduct closely held business valuations for clients. She has lectured on various topics at YWCA/AARP, MCC, RIT’s HR Masters Program, and the Association of Collaborative Family Attorneys. Donna is the Immediate Past President of CLARA and a past board member of the National Association of Women Business Owners.
