Description:Learn to mediate with skill and heart. Two dynamic master mediators share their knowledge, experience and philosophies about guiding parties to better understanding and durable resolutions. Practical skill-building grounded in theory and research. This is an integrated 40 hour course that can be taken in two parts, either together or at separate times. Part 1 on Essentials of Mediation focuses on the skills needed to mediate any kind of case. Part 2 on Divorce Mediation focuses exclusively on divorce scenarios. You must take Part 1 before Part 2 unless you have prior mediation training and the instructors’ approval. Includes interactive presentations, instructor demonstrations, experiential exercises, coached roleplays, extensive manual with sample forms and refreshments.
Presenters:NANCY FOSTER, attorney-mediator, is Director of NCMC and has mediated over a 1,000 divorce and commercial cases.
JESSICA NOTINI, attorney-mediator, teaches negotiation and conflict resolution at Hastings School of Law, Golden Gate and John F. Kennedy Universities.
